Melting Point/Pour Temperature
Pouring temperature: 65º C (+- 5º C)
Melting Point: 55º C
Containers (Jars/Bottles)
Containers must be very clean and free of contaminants. They should be at least at room temperature, although pre-heating to 40-45ºC may be beneficial.
Fragrance
Our Olive Wax supports between 5% and 12% aroma load with oil-based fragrance oils designed specifically for natural waxes. This will allow excellent integration of fragrances and oil-soluble colorants, for a final product with a deep and attractive aroma.
Pay particular attention to the type of fragrance you use, if you use fragrances designed for paraffin candles you may get poor results such as poor aroma spread, poor flame quality, mushrooming and an objectionable finish.
Highlights
Natural waxes may require a larger wick diameter than a candle made with paraffins.
The fragrance you use (we recommend BrambleBerry or Mommy's Fragrances), as well as the colorants and the overall setup of the candle, have a very significant impact when choosing the right wick.
It is recommended to do a test burn once the candle has rested for at least 48 hours to verify if the chosen wick is appropriate.
Dumped
The pouring temperature may vary depending on the type of mold to be used and its size, the fragrance you use, the colorants and the effects you want to achieve with your candle.
For an optimal result, it is recommended to pour the wax at a temperature between 60 and 65°C, although this depends on the type and shape of the container you are using.
If you have problems with the dumping temperature, you can try increasing or reducing the temperature in intervals of 5º-10ºC. Also consider pouring the candle into pre-heated molds.
Curing Time
A minimum curing time of 48 hours is recommended, in a room at room temperature, away from drafts, before performing the burning test.
Burn Test
Always check the wick you use.
Test burn 48 hours after tipping to ensure that the wick is performing properly, burning evenly, with a balanced flame forming the "pool" on the surface of your candle, and that it is not mushrooming. on the fuse
Mushrooming on your wick is when it chars at the tip, which interferes with combustion and can generate a burning smell instead of fragrant.
If you have doubts, try different wick diameters, depending on the type of jar/container you use until you achieve a clean flame and a consistent melt on your candle.
REMEMBER: Any combination of container, wax, fragrance, color and wick must be tested to ensure a quality burn.
